I found a journeyman tailor named James McQuhae with a daughter Agnes of a similar age At first I thought it was a bad transcription but the name is the same almost in every census and there are quite a number of McQuhaes in the censuses James is still alive by 1881 but no sign of Agnes which is good she could be down in Yorkshire To parents James Wylie Pastry Baker Journeyman and Jane McVean Marriage date 9th Sep 1891 Glasgow The death of Alexander a Hardware Dealer married to Mary Wylie or Dunne on the 26th Apr 1931 lists parents as James Wylie Pastry Baker deceased and Jane Wylie now King m s McVean Back to James Wylie b1895 d1924

Mary dies in 1844 and is recorded wife of William Hollins packer pottery packer they filled the kilns William was also a journeyman potter Their is a death in 1844 for a William Hollins but I have that certificate and this chap is a collier of 80 years of age Her father was William Springall an engineer journeyman Her mother was Emily Springall Bertha married Thomas James Fleming on 10th February 1910 in Lambeth Her father s details were William Springall deceased a mechanical engineer journeyman Thomas said his father was William Millar Fleming a draper s traveller
