Since I don t know how to control only the list marker size with CSS and no one s offered this yet you can use before content to generate the bullets A webpage I m working on uses some fancy chevrons for bullet points in a list I d like to define a list style that scales with the font size of the list items itself doing so is the ultimate end goal of my problem here We currently keep those chevrons in SVG files one of which is offered below so they can be magnified without looking terrible

You removed background size thus making the answer incorrect since you must resize the image to fit the container how to use background size shorthand In this case the image is just single color but if it was a user avatar it wouldn t be fully visible It s a real shame you can t style the list style directly It makes people use all sorts of workarounds I d really prefer to use list style for something that s really a list style but I cannot make it look the way I want to
