Actually my good sir that is very simple to figure out Wikipedia says that A4 paper is 210 297 mm Let s convert that to centimeters 21x29 7 cm Now go into Paint NET and simply insert those numbers in the Print Size box And Paint NET outputs 794 x 1123 px That s the default of course To anyone else If I am wrong please do The trick is the canvas size needs to be the same as the printable area of your paper For example I ve been trying to print an image to very specific dimensions 392mm x 160mm I know this needs to be printed on A3 paper but setting the canvas size of the image to A3 dimensions does not give me the right image size It s off by a few mm

I understand how if A4 is your standard size paper you would want to change the default but it would seem simpler to just change the canvas size before you begin a project Click on Image Canvas Size and choose centimeters for the Print Size I think A4 is 297 x 210 mm so enter 29 7 and 21 0 It must be Windows built in printer dialog that scales the entire canvas to fit the paper size There s even that pesky fit to frame option that doesn t tell me what scaling it s using Okay so the obvious answer is to just resize the canvas to be the same size as my paper in my case I ll use an 8 5 x 11 canvas or start with 2550 x 3300 pixel blank canvas
