Ultrawide Aspect Ratio I ask this question as I was seriously considering getting an Xbox Series S for my ultrawide monitor in my studio however after reading up on it I discovered that it only displays in 16 9 aspect ratio When displayed on an ultrawide monitor 21 9 it shows 2 black bars either side or stretches the image which is not ideal
I recently updated to Windows 11 I have a LG 34 inch ultrawide monitor 21 9 aspect ratio 2560x1080 resolution Windows 11 selects the generic Pnp monitor driver which has a max 1920x1080 resolution so the screen is fuzzy and stretched out really unusable My screen is 16 9 So if i tab into a game running at 16 10 aspect ratio i want it to be stretched vertically so remove the black bars at the top and bottom of the screen and if i open an app running at 4 3 i want it to stretch horisontally Once

I have been Googling how to change aspect ratio but all of the solution I am finding are telling me to go to advanced display options which doesn t seem to exist I have also tried to change the resolution with the options of my monitor itself but the only aspect ratio options are stretch to fit or stretch to fill I have ultrawide monitor 2560x1080 which is aspect ratio of 21 9 So far there was an option under display aspect rato of 21 9 but when I was checking some settings today I noticed something like value1 under aspect ratio I started switching through to see what is going on with that and I couldn t find 21 9 setting
Hey Folks looking at buying a LG 34 Ultra wide next week for the new upcoming games although been playing Warframe for 900 hours now and still love it has anyone got first hand experience or could someone within Digital extremes confirm if i can play at 2560x1080 The aspect ratio of a 3 840 x 2 160 monitor is 16 9 while the aspect ratio of a 2 560 which is what I think you mean x 1 080 monitor is 21 9 That explains the stretching 2 850 x 1 080 is something of an oddball resolution 2 560 x 1 080 is more prevalent because it corresponds more closely to 21 9 which is a common resolution for ultrawides
