Halifax Online Add Account chaotic j Posts 457 Forumite 30 September 2011 at 10 17PM Hi all I ve been with Halifax for quite some time always found the Online Banking excellent however now due to merging with Lloyds TSB banking systems they have obviously changed it to be much more simplistic as opposed to the old version I suppose whoever was the account holder of the Halifax app used originally would have to contact Halifax to have the registration removed If this isn t possible the only other option I can think of is a hard reset to manufacturing defaults If this extreme option is undesirable can you use online banking

However Lloyds have instructed Halifax to also freeze my Halifax account Yes I know they both are owned by LLoyds banking group but is it right and correct that my Halifax account that has no issues no fraud no unusual or high transactions etc should be subject to the same suspension as my Lloyds account Sadly halifax dont date their letters Halifax are telling me the only way they will issue activation codes is by royal mail they consider it secure and reliable I am guessing there is nothing I can do if the code doesnt arrive other than to ask for a new one again when a new one is sent the old one is invalidated

However when I log onto my Halifax online banking they are still showing with a zero balance Can I stop them showing or will I have to go to a branch and close them I would phone them up but the last time I phoned them it cost me 4 in phone charges Can you close down old account s that you no longer need online I have a couple of old savings account that I would like to close down I dont want to ring up as I have 3x reward accounts Any help would be great
